Except mine. But I have even thought of un-YBing it, and I will as soon as I can, I will un-4x4 it. Let's see: "Haulin' Colin" Mc...........V8......rwd Matt "Mothra" Smith..........2.3......" I've got stock engine except for a gutted and rotated upper intake, 3" turbo back exhaust with no cat or muffler, .68 AR T3 turbo, Cossie intercooler, and a K&N cone filter. Added on a different radiator, Bailey expansion tank and swirl pot, remote oil filter with Setrab cooler, 87 Mustang p/s bracket with 88 Thunderturd power steering pump and some Honda Civic huge capacity P/S reservoir, with a 92 Ford Ranger alternator and bracket. It runs well, has a good amount of power and runs super cool. Plan is to leave power stuff alone for this year and get the drivetrain in and get used to driving it like this. Next winter will probably do some more work in the power department, but for a first year in RWD, this combo that should be over 200 hp will be plenty of work and fun for me.

Not cheap at all to get custom drive shafts built. Especially two piece.
My dad had a couple two piece shafts made many moons ago for XR4 T5 swaps since the one piece ones were very prone to annoying vibrations at 65 to 75 mph. $375 each our cost. Sold a bunch over the years for something like $400 plus shipping, but then the shop owner sold the business and that ended that. I got a quote at another shop a few years ago about building two piece XR4 shafts new, and it was looking to be about $500 each, a bit less if I scabbed ends from junkyards. Here's where JV comes on to say he can get them made any day of the week for $19.95 and you get a free set of muffler bearings if you buy two! ![]() Andrew Steere Lyndeborough, NH KB1PJY |
