New guy here
March 14, 2008 10:34PM
I've been reading this forum the last couple days - good stuff. You call a spade a spade. I don't race a car, and probably never will. I think that once my kids grow up and I have some disposable income, "the man" won't let me race some 15+ year old low budget car. Rally must turn into NASCAR.

Anyway...been a rally fan for a number of years. Might do some posting on THIS site for a change.

I didn't bother to read the rules first. Sorry.

A couple clips of a Volvo from Doo Wops

More RWD action to follow.

It's pretty hard to be low budget with all the money required for false safety!

Who's the man?

Richard-did you get your medications wrong, you're bitter?

Mike, nice to have you here, good job on the video!

One post and second reply is a right hook, wow that must be some kind or record!

Sean,
Not bitter at all. I am just trying to correct the mispreception the either rally sancitoning organization requires competitors have new model cars. SCCA did propose that once for the national series but not for the regional series. But they no longer sanction performance rally. (See, this is how civil discussion should be carried on.) Now if you wish to discuss the need for head and neck restraint systems, all I can say is that Rally America does require them while NRS does not except that NASA race will require them starting this summer while surprisingly, SCCA race does not. And race does have something to do with rally in that it affects the insurance rates.

Welcome earthling, we come in Peace.

Hi Mike, welcome aboard.
Contrary to the posing and slander, we're not just a bunch of curmudgeons and complainers.

We're just a bunch of guys chasing something that seems to be accelerating away from all of us.
Ignore the troll Richard Miller, he complains that I'm a "boor" and use "foul language" and that's bad, but somehow it's perfectly all right to behind the backs of people lie and defame, as I have cut and pasted his shameless shit, and then come here any say he's straitening out things.
Yeah that's all right being a liar, and talking foul shit about somebdy as long as you are supposedly "polite".

That's the sort of hypocritical falseness that typifies too much of "sport" to people like him, and which is transparent to many who are put right off by it.

I've enjoyed your volunteer vids, keep it up.

For that matter say Hi sometime and say Hi to Rick. I had some good long talks with Rick back when he was getting started with the ol Ratsoon.

Is it true he's not intending to drag the Maz-dog out anymore?

What's the real dirt there? Did he get caught designing roads that would suit the Maz-dog----a long term multi-million dollar corporate scheme to eventually dominate?? Enter a monastery after having a life changing vision at max revs in 5th?

Come on, learn a lesson from RMillers playbook, as they say where he likes to make up his lies, "He's not here, we can say anything we want", what's the real reason Rick ain't out there..... 8)

Actually Mike, the reason I replied as I did is that it seems that you, like every other person posting for the first time on rally anarchy feels it is necessary to post a slam against either Special Stage or Rally America in order to curry favor with some one. Who, I am not sure.

Common Richard, talk about conspiracy theories, jeez give it a break will ya... every thread is getting old...you're reading things that aren't there, making assumptions based on the "doors" of your preceptions.

If one looks at Mike's joining date he has been around for awhile, enough to make up his own mind about what ever he would like too...

How about welcoming Mike to the rally community? Did you look at his video? great stuff? Did you get your medication straightend out, having flash backs, whats the deal?

Sean,
It would seem that Mike has been a part of the rally community for a while although maybe over on the "other" forums. I would hope some of you guys there in the PNW had already welcomed him.

I wish I could have looked at his videos but I am on dial up. I live in such a remote part of Texas that dial up is all we have. Well, okay, not quite. We finally got fiber to the house available last fall. Just haven't been home enough to get it put in.

I like to watch RWD cars and keep hoping to pick up some encouragement to go faster. But not on ice like at 100 AW. If God had meant for Texans to drive on white stuff, he would have made BS white. 37 was fast enough thank you although if that was stage 3, that is where I stopped to try and tow someone out of the ditch. Otherwise, 40 was fast enough. I was able to spin the rear tires at any time at any speed in any gear on the stages in Missouri.

I'm not trying to gain favor with anyone. My main goal with this internet posting stuff, is to promote rally, fun to watch, drive, attainable cars. I would like to race a car at some point. I have seen rally gravitate to the commercial / CYA $ide of things over the years. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to slam anyone. I am thankful for both. Just would like to see one of them turn back the clock on some safety equipment/shape of car things.

Mike

Age of the car is immaterial. *Low budget* is the operative term.

Mike,
Both NRS and RA have similar car preperation rules. The cage costs the same for both organizations. The only difference is that RA now requires you use a head and neck restraint system. And given your location, so does CARS.
