I thought that the fire was the issue. He had used up the bottles in his car and the next car (Kenny?) was using up theirs.

He wrote "we stopped to provide help to extinguish the fire". He also wrote "asked them [the stewards at the spectator point] to stop the stage because of the dangerous position of the car (middle of the road) and the possibility of fire again".

Is STPR one of those events that are very concerned about fire risk? I don't recall.

Knowing Alex, I am inclined to believe that he was primarily concerned about safety. Then again, you never know for sure.

Think about it this way: For what reason, other than safety, would Ken & Alex want to stop the stage? Both the SRTUSA cars were out of the rally.

There is no ulterior motive.

Like most things, there is no penalty if it is not brought to the attention of the event officials. It is two minutes if it is.

At one event, I was threatened with the penalty for rolling down the window between the FF and Stop Control, rather than waiting until I was stopped at the control.

Which Evo is that? I don't recall being involved with the destruction of that one ...

Is that Piotr's car? If so, then it is 2004.

The western WA events have been very, very concerned about fire risk, requiring shovels be in the car to help put out fires and stuff like that.

It was formally changed in the 2007 book, but, for example at driver's meetings, officials were saying to display it for all subsequent cars for a while before 2007.

...But any joy in the Subaru team pits was short-lived, as Pastrana/Ringer rolled their brand new rally car on stage 4 first thing the following morning, and the car caught fire. Here's a group of pictures at the bridge, you can see a lot of witnesses that Block left the car in the road.
From the picture file names, it shows the cars in order(?) of arrival (??) and if Kemp hit Ringer "while he was putting out triangles", it was a bit longer than 30 seconds. Kemp may have been the 7th car after Block.

Still can't figure out the mindset of the two SRTUSA teams, very irregular.
If the suspension had no part in the roll, why is it flaming?
Why is it so close to the fuel cell?
If the fire is out, why is it still a danger?
If #43 says he's going to stop the stage, why doesn't Kenny stay with the flaming car and look after the guys? Looks like he tossed the bottles and continued.
More than 5 minutes to set triangles?
Up until Kemp's punt, everyone till then should be Force Majeure with allowances to Block and if written right, the next car. (as Block was gone)
Why no triangle behind Block's car? Did they think everyone stops racing because the star is crashed?
Next car by can get by #199 (like they did), see no red cross(?) see no triangles(?) see no fire and continue to a spectator position and find a car parked in the line to a tricky bit - again with no triangle.

Now the PR tries to clean it up.

I think I got the links fixed and now I see what Moro had to do.
These are stills so I could be wrong but I'm going by reports that Moro did something incredible to avoid a crash.
Looks like Bacon could see the car stopped ahead, Moro is still racing in the 100 degree heat, there's probably dust.
Looks like Moro is thinking Bacon is pulling left to let him by when he spots a parked car in his path!

I'm not sure of any of it, I'm just piecing together info from wherever it pops up.
I first heard from an eyewitness at the bridge and then started wondering why all this crazy stuff may have happened.
So far, it makes no sense.

Boy all we can say is yet another fiasco brought to you from the boys in Blue Subarus, and what a eeeerie total silence over on Spetzial Stagione.

I guess cars just stopping puropely blocking a stage so the "Pro' driver can talk to workers who seemed to have allowed a lot of cars to be cluttering the corner, and then triangles being placed 7-8 minutes after whoever decided on their own to simply stop in the MIDDLE of the road and then a driver of the car blocking the road decides to once again throw a stage is just everyday happenings hardly worth commenting on.

It just seems like those SRTUSA guys are just out of control and not just with their driving.
