Ok you dead beat rally wannabees..winking smiley , you have 4 months to get those rally projects done. DooWops will be March 7 and 8, 2009. Here's some of what we have planned.

Reg and tech will be Sat AM, no Friday nite scramble to get to Aberdeen for tech. No extra motel nite needed.

Entry fees targeted around $350 again. Targeted means we'll adjust as budget requires.

No HNRs required. I recommend them however. NASA Rally Sport hasn't required them for '09 at this time. If they are mandated DooWop will be waivered for '09 anyway.

RallyMoto, we intend to get this going. It'll give DWs some additional entrys, and give RallyMoto guys another NW event ( excuse to go buy a motorcycle ).

Stages, 6 stages Saturday, 6 stages Sunday. We'll actually have 3 different stages each day run twice.

Saturday will have the Blue Slough paved stage, 2 times same direction. Then a new stage near Montesano, paved and gravel mixed, this stage will be reversed. Gravel tires required for all stages. There will be service after the paved stages so you can run old gravel tires if you want, save the new ones for Pico. Then the Pico gravel stage, reversed. Service will be at Montesano, one location. Pizza party Saturday evening in Aberdeen.

Sunday will feature the world famous Brooklyn stage, Smith Creek and a new gravel stage. The new stage is wide and twisty, outta be a blast. We'll run it twice the same direction. Brooklyn and Smith Creek will be reversed as usual. Service will be in South Bend this year, one location, no service in Brooklyn. Finish at the Oakville Grange.

The route is established and we have road permissions already. The schedule and some other items such as RallyMoto are in the works. We've tried to make things easy and affordable. Tighening up the route and lessening travel distances should make things easier.

DooWops is really about you guys, the regional, divisional, club ralliest. So get those rally cars done and be a part of the best danged rally anywhere ( possibly an unvalidated claim ) .

I plan on volunteering. That offer comes with a possible stipulaton though, meaning my friends who'd be volunteering with me have a 6 year old, so you take us all if they go, or you take none of us. Grew up around rally since I was 5/6, and both of my brothers from the time they were born. Ran into a slight issue with hood and the idea of having kids with a group. Had never run across that before and hope that children aren't going to start being excluded, I try very hard to bring people into the world of rally and volunteering and some of them have kids.

Sorry for the rant, still a little sore on the subject since hood was just last weekend.

Moved later! I was bummed because I have an opthalmology meeting in St. Louis the weekend that usually hosts Doo Wops/100AW, but 1st weekend in March is free. Now to figure out getting the car out there... Oh, and storage.

Merilee,

I wouldn't want a 6 year old riding in sweep or pace, being present at a control should be no problem. Get a minor waiver signed. Not sure what happened at Hood, how about telling me the whole story so I can make sure. Brent went for his first ride at the ORV park when he was about 3...

Grant,

I have lots of secure storage and the shop to use ( keeping in mind retail business first ). I'm in Elma, just a few miles from the rally stages. You could keep the car here for Olympus and Oregon if need be. I don't have any extra sleeping accomodations however.

Grantie boy, you know youse can sleep here and if the car runs it can be stored here and for that matter you can barrow the van and stuff for service.

Hell I might even co-drive for ya if you promise not to flip the car.
