Yeeeeah but I got bored. lol.

Then you aren't trying to get a car hard enough. Never a reason for boredom in life.
Try harder.

Pretty soon you'll reach a point in life where you won't have enough time to get everything done that you want to do. Don't waste it now. Get motivated.

Youth is wasted on the young and all that, blah blah. winking smiley

Tim.

One more quick question. I've been looking at the supps for numerous rallies and it seems like a common thing is to have "recce registration" on Wednesday. If you miss this registration, can you still be able to do the recce on Thursday?
There actually is an answer to this, but not wholly straight forward. While the question is a bit premature, I do see why it would be of interest to you now.
- Each event will set its own schedule and when recce registration will happen.
- I don't think I've ever noticed an event that didn't also have recce registration on the same morning of recce.
- Most organisers I know would happily make arrangements to register a team the morning of recce that couldn't make recce registration for a valid reason.

Having access to recce documents for more than a few minutes before heading out to recce has some advantages but if it comes down to having to take yet another day off work to be able to make wednesday night registration, I doubt you need to worry about it as you should be able to arrange something for Thursday morning as well.

Ok. The $$$ has come through, and I will finally get a CAR!!!!! But I have more questions.

1. Any test driving tips? What serious problems could a car have that I can check out?

2. How hard is manual? I've never driven stick before (Don't worry. I have no plans to destroy some poor souls car. My dad can drive stick). How long will it be before I get good enough to do daily driving? I have a Logitech G27 wheel if it helps.

Manual is easy, automatics are hard. My wife and I just bought a used car in a 5 speed and she manages to drive in busy Denver traffic and deal with an occasionally screaming 1 year old in the back seat.

NO self respecting automotive enthusiast would want or drive a automatic, unless you physically had to. And yes, that means Evo X drivers and other "but it's a DSG so it's still manual just electronically controlled" are all pretenders.

Test driving. Drive fast, take chances.

Stick shift lesson.

Flat parking lot. Learn to get the car moving smoothly from a standstill without touching the gas pedal.

That's 75% of it.

And anybody can master that in under 10 minutes when taught in steps.. And the teacher has turned the idle up to 1000-1100.
