Forum Admins: Feature Request Please

I don't know who really admins this forum but I have a request for a forum feature: "Block all posts by user". vBulletin and other forum software i have used offers this and if it is a feature that is available and just not enabled I would ask that this be enabled.

I have reached a point that I choose not to read vitriolic posts by a certain user in this forum. This user posts in every thread I start or participate in with such negativity that I choose not to be a part of this forum any longer. There are a lot of great people on here and many have been helpful to this rally newbie. However, upon turning 45 this weekend, I am making a conscious decision to remove the negative folks in my life.

Cheers.

Sean

I recently talked with a few people who used to participate on this forum. They left because it has gotten so stupid. I rarely post any more for similar reasons.

I employ a mind filter and skip over a ton of posts anymore. Anything with John and Keith gets an auto skip.
I'd rather see non-threaded views. Scrolling through 250 posts to get to first new post gets old...

Quite frankly it is pure bullshit. Sonner or later someone will say something that pisses some one else off. That is life. I offended or pissed orf Mark Bowers a while back. I didn't realize it and didn't intend to. I'm sorry I did, still sorry I did and learned to watch what I said a bit better, or at least try to.

This is a case if JV doesn't like someone for any reason everyone else gets punished. Every thread gets derailed, every discussion poisoned. Lots of good info lost , lots of good questions never asked or answered. I've had the same responses as Robert with people just dropping out from here.

There is only one authority, one opinion, one method of building cars etc. Unfortunately this forum was founded by one of that persons devotees and so it will not change.

I read less and post less, many threads I never visit, who has time for the BS? Life is too short.

I don't auto skip everything, I sort of glance it over, if it seems "safe" I read. If it gets dumb, I skip everything by those being gooberdoofs in that thread. Each thread gets it's own review before passing judgement.

I read EVERYTHING here...The info..arguments and drama....I'm totally addicted to this place-there couldn't possibly be enough material-post more everybody!!

I was so bored last week that I logged into SS and posted for the 1st time since 2006!

Just looking at the start page of that place is like a narcotic to me-what is it about SS that just bores me to tears?

Except the for sale section-it actually has rally cars for sale...

Ok-now that that's out of the way.......

I don't hope for more drama here..but of course I usually find it.
I've never met any of you yet(tried to meet Medcroft at GRC but the pits were locked up tight!).

But ya'll seem like a good bunch-John Too.

Not sure why certain people set him off so much....if I really thought somebody was really stupid(not saying anyone here is),personally I'd just really try to ignore that person and move on.....that's just not his way I guess......

Sean, coming from someone who's been accused of bloviating on FB, and who got wound up because people unfriended him, that request is kind of amusing.

I'm a veteran of late-80s and early-90s usenet flame wars, and frankly you are all just amateurs when it comes to that. I have a pretty good "don't pay any attention to that" filter, so I pretty much read everything and just blip over the non-informative stuff.

I sort of view the people in this forum as a rallycar - most just need a kick in the pants to get them to straighten up and drive straight, but on every turn there's a chance they'll go sideways on you. It's still a useful experience and just part of the activity.

I'm pretty sure my asbestos SRDC hat is on at the moment, so flame away.

Hoche, I don't think you are much older than I. I have been around many forums for many years. Most would have seen this person long banished on general principle. But, not wanting to infringe on anyone's first amendment rights to make themselves look foolish, technology has offered to the solution with a quick click of the button. If that technology exists on this software, I would love to see it implemented.

As far as bloviating and whining, are you stalking me on FB? It's been a while since I have had a good nutswinger.

What's a nutswinger?

Stalking? We're "Facebook friends". When you post, it appears on my status update page and vice-versa. That's kind of the way it works. So of course I saw your rant about someone accusing you of bloviating and then unfriending you a few months ago.

I just run everything through Gizoogle.net. It just makes everything more epic and entertaining, especially JV's posts.
