Since this is the snarkier forum, I'll post here, I guess. Also, I voted for Obama and give money to homeless people when I can, so....
The problem with the "Can't fail if you never try" (by which I think you mean, "can't succeed if you never try" is that your trying might be ruining crowdfunding for the people that really need it. Just like the fake homeless who make a career of carefully picking cardboard signs to write "disabled vet, two kids, really want to work" on them, the problem is that you make it more difficult for the people who actually need those handouts to get them. Let's say a team was one event from winning the national championship when someone went the wrong way on stage and caused their car to be destroyed. They start up a crowdfund to get those last points. Seems like a reasonable reason to beg for cash. However, all the people who might have donated have already been burned by people who asked for money who didn't really need it. They feel cheated by crowdfunding and are hesitant to donate again. This is why old people don't give cash to the homeless, they've been cheated too many times. (Also, the "hard work worked for me" generalization, but still...) So what you are doing, essentially, is robbing from future legitimate crowdfund efforts with your campaign. This becomes particularly painful when the second result people get when googling your name is this thread about how you rip people off: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1989127 Finally, if you are so serious about making it to Sno*Drift, why isn't your name on the entry list? http://rally-america.com/events/2014/SNODRIFT/entries Do the right thing for the rally community and spend some time saving up for the races you want to do instead of trying to get the rally community to pay for it. In this case, it can hurt to try. -don http://www.demonrally.com - powered by http://www.finetuningperformance.com JRM | RalleyTuned | CTS Turbo | Meister Autowerks | Spitfire EFI | JVAB Imports | USRT http://propicks.demonrally.com - predict the Rally America winners and fight for fame and glory. |

Dave has come to an.agreement a long time ago as well.as recently saw daves in person at sema, dave is a good guy and we had to come to an agreement where both parties were happy due to mis communication on both ends. Did you see the date on the thread? Pmease take a second to look again at the campaign if we do not get funded we will not go and all people who.gave get refunded? Maybe it is your attitude why we dont see you at more events? We do work and we will be at all.of the nw events, we also are paying for some of the amount to , make it to sno.drift we are askong for assistance if we do not make it well then it was not meant to be and refunds given.
Its funny how people dig up old stuff when they are mad ? Is it our fault you did not make it out to big white? Just because we are attempting to get to (1) event with help does not make us a bum. It makes us a nor,al.rally team on a normal.budget trying to get to an event, i dont see you flamming the other 6 + teams ?. And thank you for the positiveness! Tino. I don't care about the agreement, I care about the perception of your business dealings. That perception, based on google results for your name, is shitty.
I appreciate that if you don't reach your goal, the funds will not be given to you. I think that is a smart move. But if someone donates and it fails, don't they still feel like they shouldn't bother donating next time? Please refrain from talking about things you know nothing about, however. Feel free to look up my name, Don Burress, and count how many events I've done. When you have more than me, feel free to talk about my attitude. If you want to know how you can tow to a distant national event on a "normal" rally budget, feel free to ask any of the hundreds of teams who have done so without crowdfunding, including the team I'm a part of (1st place, National Gp2, LSPR 2007). I hope you make it to Sno*Drift. I hope you win your class against a strong midwest contingent of Open Light cars. I hope you (and the other crowdfunding efforts) don't ruin crowdfunding rallies for everyone, which is why I won't be donating to your campaign. I'm just trying to look out for the future of my sport is all. I hope you do the same. -don http://www.demonrally.com - powered by http://www.finetuningperformance.com JRM | RalleyTuned | CTS Turbo | Meister Autowerks | Spitfire EFI | JVAB Imports | USRT http://propicks.demonrally.com - predict the Rally America winners and fight for fame and glory. |

Well there does seem to be an awful lot of people on that thread talking about their own experiences, people who know you over a period of time... Pretty consistently harsh words... I know real well how just 1-2% of unhappy customers---for whatever reason---can be a thing that assholes who had nothing to do with the transaction will bring up 10 years later, but that doesn't look like 1-2% unhappy... Looks more like a pattern of behavior... Looks like serious explanations would be called for...... Crowdfunding, still waiting on my Chris Duplesis t-shirt, maybe he'll trade me for this big box full of Cody shirts from when we put together that deal. I have to aggree with Don, if the whole rally community isn't totally burned on this concept your campaign could be the last straw.
Don't get me wrong I do hope that you get to snodrift and that you kick some ass. |

Lol. It doesn't matter what you do or say, you won't squeeze a nickel out of this site. Maybe your pals on nasioc will donate to your cause...since you're such a great guy these days? |
