Gravel tire cutting for slush

Typical for our area is a nice selection of Snow, Ice and Gravel. This weekend sounds like another mixed bag of "No good option".

If roads are warm enough for soft gravels, are wet or mud cuts effective in slush/snow? Obviously not ideal but A034's never last long on a stage with large gravel sections.
