Speaking of culture difference - how many companies here would let you blat around their facility with CARS AND BUSES STILL PARKED THERE. That vid is awesome.

And the second vid makes we want a RWD bad!!

I watched WRC 1995 the other night in an effort to memorialize Colin. I'm really glad I did.

I think WRC is going to worse off without Marcus as well.

I did that a couple of weeks ago too.

Without active difs, roll bars and paddle shifters, the cars really have to move around! That is the biggest difference...they move. Friggn' wrc cars look glued to the road, until they fall off.

I can't find it now, but I used to have some 80's British Rally Championship tapes. Colin, Richard, Malcolm, Gwendolf (sp?) Evan, etc, etc... These cars were fast and DAMN didn't they chuck them around.

There was one incar of Colin, in a Legacy sedan, in the rain/mud/poop and he's got this thing absolutely NEVER straight for minutes...it never ever points down the road...only passes through that angle of attach as it slews back and forth. That coupled with the whine-clunk-whine-clunk of the gears and gravel on the bottom of the car is hypnotic.

To me...that's rally. That's why I spend the weekend in the garage making loads of black buggers and bloody knuckles...cause I wanna do that.

She's screamn' fer eet!

that car clearly doesn't need a quick rack. Watch the guy drive. He steers the thing withthe throttle. The only thing a quick rack does for a person who doesn't know how to use it is teach them how to saw the steering wheel.

I've said it before, and say it again. The wheel infront of your is mearly an accessory. The 3 things at the end of your feet are much more valueble and effctive tools for control

it must be getting cold somewhere.

why?

i agree with JVL 100% on this issue.

i have been watching old rally clips from the 80s and 90s over the weekend.

here is one i posted on SS:

the save heatherington makes on the second pass over the big jump in the video is amazing.

the song is really cheesy and tons of fun.

"Drive 'er straight sideways lad!"

You noticed how often Dennis Martin is saying things that sound like I could have said them lately?

There's others.
Seems like after a while many people start to say things , notice things, and wonder about similar stuff as i say, notice, and wonder about.
And then they say "I hate to say but for once....."

Not just one SS but oin Merkur and Volvo forums too.

Odd, isn't it.
