We ate breakfast with Langbein/Wimpey each morning at Oregon Trails in 05 and I always felt like such a pussy sitting there eating my oatmeal with fruit while they have these huge steak and eggs and pancakes and sausages and bacon and such.

I've always felt breakfast to be a waste of time, for rallies I eat it typically because who knows if I'll have lunch. We usually go for turkey and cheese on white bread for lunch. The point is, relatively easy to digest, but good amount of things like potassium and calories. Stay away from fake shit like Red Bull and Rockstar. I drink like 17 coffees and two gallons of soda a day in my fast track route to Type 2 diabetes, but when rallies come around, I'll have a cup of coffee in the morning, then it's all water during the day, and then beer at night.

I've heard rumors of certain teams getting a bit stoned before and during the actual rally, but that's just rumors. One local driver here in Colorado had to have one of those breathalizer things that you have to blow into to get the car to start in his rally car. I heard they were a bit weirded out by it at tech inspection at one event.

Jonathan,
I would also shy away from using things like 5-htp (mentioned earlier) due to their drowsy-ing effects. This is just a synthetic version of tryptophan with an added side group that is supposed to be better than trp, but it will still make you sleepy. Especially, later in the day-transits and night stages.
I tend to agree with the smoking theory. I smoke a lot at rallies and have never even had the slightest incline to get sick. That and Grant (for one) can second the water thing expecially at places like Pikes. Drink a ton of it!!! Who cares if you have to pee every stage!

You'll never know what you need until you try it.

I don't use anything, eat the nastiest greasiest crap during service, and I havn't puked yet. Infact I'm the only navvie Carl's had that hasn't. I've even gotten a driver sick and yelled at him for being a Polish Pussy on stage.

When codriving for JVL let me just say that no drugs are necessary. I'll let you interperet that as you see fit...

I once applied for a job as "Drug Counselor" figuring that I could really help people if I could meet them and talk with them a bit and then recommend just exactly what drugs they should be using.....
I didn't make it out of the California Human Resources Departments offices because they would give me a referral slip to the agency looking to fill the position, and I'm say "But! But! I can help people! I Know I can, like you (to the faceless bureaucrat hindering me) you need something to like mellow you the fuck out, man.
Maybe some good Oaxaca, maybe some Michoacan. Now for that shrew faced bitch over there , she needs something a lot stronger like Opium dipped Thai sticks, man!!!....."

They didn't seem amused but some of the clients all round were.
