@ nocoast and Jon vanlandingham:
You know what makes me sick? Your skepticism and negative comments. This is a real problem that needs a real solution, not dumb-asses like you "nay saying" every comment that's posted. I wouldn't go on here and make this stuff up. You have no idea how upset my mother was. And, to reply to your other skeptical comment, I use "noneya" as my user name for anonymity and safety. It seems like you have no problem using your real name. How easy would it be for me or anyone else to use your name for something illegal? I only hope that you're lucky enough to avoid the grief that the other two went through, and my mother luckily avoided. @ jon burke and fliz: I was directed to this site after I googled the number .I followed through and called it, because I happen to live in the 858 area code in San Diego County. The number rings until a busy signal happens. It doesn't answer, and when I Googled it, the number also came up as a +91 number, which means it's an international number. INDIA as a matter of fact. THIS IS A REAL SCAM! I thought this thread was here to help people, not condemn them. Edited 4 time(s). Last edit at 08/26/2011 02:50AM by noneya. |

How would we know that you're not making anything up? You want anonymity, with that you also get zero credibility. You don't trust anybody else, why would we trust you. Also, thinking you are anonymous when you register and post on public forums is wildly naive. |

Debit cards are very bad for losing money to scammers (wifey is a banker) we don't have one.
Started getting recorded calls asking for Brent's info from his debit card bank and eventually ended up talking to a person who just didn't sound convincing. We called the issuing bank and found the number wasn't legit. So...gets a bit funny here...a few months later a call comes in for Brents card again, I tell the caller to piss off. Well that nite he goes down to the gas station and fills his car, goes inside and his card is declined. Seems the call was legit and I upset the lady (imagine me upsetting anyone..). Mommaloo had to go bail him out at the gas station. Next day we really did some ass-chewin at the back and then pulled a couple accounts. Whodathunk... He did get a couple fake charges over the years, including a train ticket in Barcelona a few months back. We've gotten the charges reversed but you never know with debit. Seems like someone had a reader down at the gas station in town because several of the wifes cusomers at her bank got their debits scammed also. New posters..maybe you have a true story, maybe not. You certainly shouldn't expect anyone here to believe an anonymous first time poster just because.... especially when the topic is so far from the general interest of the forum (not thread). The internet is what it is. |

Hey, this forum was invented in my driveway buy a gang of very friendly, very helpful people.. We noticed that ANONIMITY is what allows scum bastards to get away with or try to get away with their shit... So we made 1-2 really simple rules--a REAL NAME and a REAL LOCATION. And no malicious slander. It's worked great so far, numerous guys have been able to see others in their area, and RECOGIZE the guy Bob or Fred is the Bob or Fred that they were chatting with in the fucking real world at a rally which they would not have been able to do with some stupid made up screen name only... Since the inception of this place only ONE bad thing has happened and even that was only peripheral to this place. ONE nice guy here paid out $3800 to a very sporadic visitor here as payment for a fully rebuilt motor and a T5 box belonging to another guy here. I don't know why money was put in the guy's hand for a motor and box belong to another, but the guy paying and I didn't think anything of it at the time... The guy pocketed the $3800 and now--as of like last week---while admitting he received the money--flatly refuses to pay the guy who owned the motor claiming he doesn't have any money. It's insane but we know the guy, where he lives, because we know him.. He cannot sell other people's property with impunity. Its fraud and theft. But we know his name, address, email, phone number etc. So ignoring the aggressive nature of your cutsie name, the rules and reasons are posted there, you can read them.. They're incredibly simple.. Maybe follow the one simple rule and be a mensch. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Maybe if you were more skeptical and kept your personal info off your facebook page you're mother would have never been upset. How was it that someone could have been successful at convincing or nearly convincing your mom that you were her? Is your relationship that ... What's the word here I'm looking for.... Disjoint? Do you really care that it upset her or do you care more that it inconvenienced you? Regardless, I gave a heads up to all my family and thank you for sharing your story, real or fake. |

no one is comdeming you, we're just trying to figure out what the deal is...BTW, paying attention to where you are on the internet is a good rule for not getting scammed. This is the 'Off Topic' section of a 'Car Forum'....I'm sorry, but how/why did you think you'd get some help here? Your story/situation certainly sucks, and I'm sorry to hear it, but none of us here can fix your situation. Got a car problem? This is your place. |
