A funny, but not so funny story...

So, I guess it's not really funny, but in a weird and sad way, it kind of is.

So a girl I know works for this non-profit that helps prostitutes here in Denver. One of the local Docs from my school was giving a presentation on STDs and how to avoid them and how Syphillis is back (because apparently it is) and this girl stands up and tells him that she got herpes from her jeans. The doctor, a little confounded and surprised, says, well as far as I know there's never been any case of that actually happening. The girl says, well I got herpes and my boyfriend (who's apparently also her pimp says my friend) said that my herpes were caused by my blue jeans because I never wear underwear and now I'm afraid to not wear underwear which is really uncomfortable because I don't want to get herpes again. The doctor tells her, herpes never goes away. You will have herpes and be able to give others herpes for the rest of your life, you just won't always have the clinical signs of the disease. And she says, no. I don't have herpes now so how could I give someone else herpes.

And that's the story. Moral: don't sleep mess around with hookers.

When I was looking at a culinary school in Denver I spent time driving on kofax (sp?) street with some of the students throwing loli-pops at prostitutes. That's as far as I'll mess with them.

Just avoid the hookers who don't wear underwear. I'm sure the rest are OK

Maybe she is confusing callouses with herpes ??

Decent education would help out so many people...

But it is a two way process the information needs to be presented AND it needs to be asorbed.
