8 point sockets
April 18, 2008 06:29PM
I figured this would be a good group of people to ask.

I'm looking for 8 point sockets for our track bolts (square headed nuts). The two sizes I need are 7/8" and 1 1/4". The 7/8 inchers are easy because they will be used in a clean environment, but the 1 1/4"s are going to be used in a dirty one.. so I want to find a cheap deep one. I don't care if it's impact or not.

First off, I know of mcmaster-car.. but they "won't ship to new foreigners"

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried Princess auto? There is one in Hamilton, they usually have good prices on "cheap" tool.

I have a few friends who are buying from them.

I haven't tried Princess auto.. we go there a lot.. but they're not really good for obscure things like that.

Probably worth it in the long run if you don't loose them as often as I do! grinning smiley

Well I think I can get them for sub $20 if I buy enough volume. They are for underground construction work. Don't underestimate the ability for things to get lost.
