The old Volvos are 5 x 4.5

The switch happened either late late in the 120s or the 140s (definitely by the 140s).

i heard the switch was in 67 or 68.

I got ford/amc/mopar bolt pattern on my 65 and 66.

Definitely 5 x 4.5

That makes sense as the very first of the 140s are 1967.

I scoured the net and came up with a Weber DGAS 38 and an intake manifold for the B20. She's used but supposedly came off a running car so I think I'm gonna give it a shot as is. Anything I should check first?

This is a weird deal how the two manifolds share studs and since they're two different thicknesses I'm wondering if theres special spacers or should I grind the intake mani down to match the thickness of the exhaust mani or what??

I think I sorta got the idea of how the linkage is supposed to work. Looks like I'm definately gonna have to make new bushings and dick around with it a bit to get it to work right.. Worry about that later, I just want to get it bolted up and get her runnin'

Nope, it's a B30E. 1 1/2 B20E engines (3.0 6 cylinder with Bosch D- Jetronic injection).
B18A- 1.8 single downdraft ( Solex?) carb. Not sold in the US but sold north of the border. Usually single down pipe exhaust
B18B- 1.8 Twin SU 1 3/4 carbs on a seperate aluminum manifold. Usually a twin downpipe exhaust rated at 105 HP in 120's 115Hp in 140's and 1800S.
B20A - 2.0 Single downdraft- Again sold north of the border but not in the US
B20B - 2.0 Twin Stromberg 175 CDSE carbs on a cast iron one piece manifold. Intake and exhaust cast as one piece with a goofy plate that warmed the intake charge with exhaust heat, Twin downpipe exhaust. Rated at 115HP 1968-1972
B20E -2.0 Bosch D-Jetronic. Higher compression, better cam (F?), bigger valves. Larger cast iron twin downpipe manifold (flowed at least as well as most "street" headers. Rated at 135HP (1970-1973)
B20F - 2.0 Bosch K-Jetronic (CIS) injection. Same as B20E except lower compression.
A stout street engine is a B20E with carb/carbs. 1800E downpipe (2" diameter) shorter length . Fab the rest of the exhaust. You'll need to plug the injector mounting bosses in the head. We usually changed to the "R" cam.
The SU carbs have been described as "bloody primitive" . When tuned correctly, they worked well. Most 'Murricans didn't understand them ,thus the market for the downdraft Weber comversions. We understand downdraft carbs, mostly.
All 120 series cars (1957- 1970) used the Ford/Chrysler/AMC bolt pattern. The 144 (1967) introduced the smaller bolt pattern. It continued to be used in all hte RWD cars.
Close enough for Volvo 101, John?
