In the old days, to turn a cargo Van into a " station wagon" , one added windows and a fixed seating. Went to a junk yard got the seat from a passenger van and bought the cheap plastic windows and cut them in. I don't know who did the inspection, police or Sec. of State to verify the conversion. THe truck was then retitled as a station wagon.
An SCCA racer told me about the Motor Home thing. The way he told me, one just needed to add a sleeping space ( a fold-up bed counts) and a cooking surface. I'll see if I can get his number and get the details.
