Dutch PV 544 race car concept

So this dutch racer dude wanted to build a low cost race car.. he decided to base it on the Volvo PV 544.. I'm not super crazy about the styling choices.. but it's rad anyways.

I had some pictures of the chassis.. but can't find them now. Tubular of course.. independent front and rear.. with a mid mounted engine.

i always thought that a 1930s ford coupe like this:

with a modern drivetrain and suspension would be a lot of fun, sure it would be really heavy fun, but fun none the less.

i wonder how light you could get those old cars with some lexan and fiberglass fenders?

For a PV, a lot less than you'd expect.. They're around 2100-2200 pounds with all the trimmings.
