2007 Porsche 911 GT3

Wonder what the highest HP/L for a normally aspirated production car is? Would love to see the engineering that went into this flat six....

"The latest race- bred 911 sports coupe features a 415-horsepower naturally aspirated engine with an 8,400 rpm redline, an active suspension setup tuned for the track, and a mechanical limited-slip differential."

The current one isn't too bad either. 385hp I think. Cheaper than a Turbo and has an optional/free rollcage and other goodies. A purists car, too bad only driving glove wearing ninnies can afford it.

Speaking from North American market, S2000s had it at 120. I seem to recall some Japanese home-market thingy with 195hp from a 1.6, maybe a Nissan, but that's kind of fuzzy.

All depends on how you define "production car" of course, as motorcycle-engined kit cars could easily surpass it. Power doesn't scale well to displacement.

A friend's bike makes 180hp/l for example. Individual 48mm throttle bodies on a 1000cc four cylinder, close ratio 6 speed, etc. Would be fun if it had more than just the two wheels, but on the other hand, it's a hair over 2lb/hp before you load it down with a rider/driver/marksman...

How much does the Porche weigh? Something over 3000lb probably?

It might not wieght that much, as the current one is basically a stripped down 911. No back seats, etc. The GT2 is the heavy bastard I'm pretty sure.
