Damn dude that sucks, cheap filter screwed the whole rally. How many stages did you managed to run?

Bling limped out to the end of Beacon Hill,SS2. Then he sucked up about 1/2 the minutes of my pre-paid cell calling the crew as the fancy Sprint phone doesn't work in the depths o' da woods dere.
I know it could hve been worse, he could have called JVL . It would be interesting to know which would give out first- the battery or the minutes.

Cheap filter and cheap chinese turbo. I hate to say it and I'm sure you're already to this mentality, but you'd be better off missing/skipping one (or more) rally and spending the dough to get proven reliable parts than DNFing a bunch of times. I could have done Rally Colorado in 2007, but opted to wait and get the car to the level of reliability I wanted. Haven't had a single real problem in three days of testing, two hill climbs, and one stage rally thanks to that mentality.
Huge bummer though and good video. Stoked to work with you in the future with Max Attack stuff. You're video production skills have greatly improved, while mine, well...
MAXATTACK!

I sorta agree and sorta don't.

I love the china turbo, the gen2 versions are balanced and real turbo's now. Same parts as Garret and don't anticipate any problems with them when they are not inhaling metal chunks at 60,000 RPM. I disassembled it, and it is a solid unit.

The "real" turbonetics I had at first and tuned with blew itself up without having metal chunks to inhale.

The filter was one my buddy stuck on there last minute while tuning because I didn't have one at that point. Yes, I should have changed it out for the epic airbox with panel filter I wanted to build, but ran out of time. And didnt anticipate that sort of problem. Should have, as it has been documented, but I didn't.

Other than all the last minute work the car was ready for DECIMATION, and was running good and nice after we removed the thermostat post stage 1. If the air filter had not imploded, I have no doubts the car would have completed the rally easily (unless I smashed it into something or you know)

Couple loose ends to tie up on the car now, new motor and stuff, but we have plenty of time now. Gotta find a place for it though, sitting in the street now and it is snowing tonite eeeee.

Maybe lots of testing at Gingerman and maybe in the dirt? No CORR out here y0!

I'm ready to get video crazy go nuts next year.
