Oh Rem. You really should post this on the Matt Iorio rulez thing on specialstage.com. Well, if you saw his interview at SnoDrift from last year anyhow.

The "man" who said we all "suck at our day job" seems to have a day job which consists of playing Dungeons and Dragons fulltime.

When he's not whining about having nowhere to go practice.

I was just reading through old posts that I hadn't got around to reading yet, and saw a post about D&D. Cool! I remember seeing this video playing at GenCon in Milwaukee way back in 2001.

that's actually a comic sketch by a group called the Dead Alewives, also from Milwaukee, set to some video captured from a couple video games, but I don't remember which ones right off. There's also a "Part 2" to be found somewhere, audio only, which is pretty good too, if you enjoy D&D at all.

yes, I admit, I still play D&D every once in a while. 3.5 edition, based on the D20 system (although I still have issues with WoTC and their way of messing up M:TG) is a lot less wacky compared to the older versions as far as which dice to roll when, and whether you add or subtract, and want to roll high or low, etc..

Ah well. enough geekosity for now.

Huh is it up to 3.5 edition already, haven't played since the AD&D days smiling smiley

Played Shadowrun and Paranoia too, and some Star Wars RPG...
and a bit of Robotech...

That video was originally an easter egg in some PS2 game that I finished shortly after the PS2 came out!

You Betcha!!

The wagon's developed a drug addiction though, it really likes LSD now. Hopefully I won't blow it up.

One of these days, I'm going to get sick of driving really fast on tarmac, and set up a car for going fast on other surfaces. I had to go to Marshfield for work a couple weeks ago, and had to come through Tomah on the way home, so I took Hwy 173, which is about as boring of a straight-line road as you can find. There were a lot of either gravel or just dirt tiretrack roads heading off of it like to Wildlife Parks and the like, so I played around a bit. Wow, that was fun. Do most rallyists remove the dust shields from their rotors, to keep rocks from getting stuck in them? heheh.

I never played Paranoia or Robotech (but I did briefly foray into Mechwarrior.) Shadowrun was always fun, although the Decking rules were kinda wierd. So I ended up being a Decker with awesome combat skills. Apparently, there's a new version of Shadowrun out too now, like 3 or 4 or something.

It was really neat when I went to GenCon in 2000, it was the year 3rd edition came out, and I got my player's handbook signed by Larry Elmore, he drew a really cool dragon inside the front cover:
