This is a diverse group. Anyone have any experience with manufacturing products in China. Or finding manufacturers. So far the places I've contacted have resulted in crickets.

Talk to me, I have all sorts of direct contacts, and have made and supplied what 220 Volvo rods.

But aren't you supposed to be some medical bio-statistician.

Splill you beans, gotta talk openly though, and I'll tell you honestly back...

What are you looking for?

Ditto on everything John said. The hard part about finding a manufacturer in China is weeding through all of the traders (resellers) who represent themselves as manufacturers.

We are in the process of finding a new manufacturer to source a new part of our next product - THANK GOD we have an amazing manufacturer that does all of the JVL "sifting" for us

Yeah but everybody in America is smarter than some Chinese, huh?
Just look, everybody with a club level car seems to want to become a "Online Business" cause then they're going support their "race program"...

You should see some of the insane crap with one gang of early 20s heroes in Portland who fashion themselves as a Volvo specialist place.. 16-18 month delays on rods, 15 months late om rcranks and here I was in Westrn China at the factories making EVERY-BODIES H profile rods and cranks in America and these idiots didn't want to "give away our sources" when I asked if I could help since I was THERE in TOWN ferfucksake. Oh well it was only another 8 months till delivery.

Hey where's Grant?

Thanks everyone. Found a few new potential leads through alibaba. Also had a new thought, which was manufacturing in Brazil. ~7 hour flight and it's Brasil!

It's too early in the idea to get into too many details. But it's a specialty sports apparel, completely and 100% unrelated to cars (or boats Gene.)

If it's some kind of clothing (or any wearable item) I can put you in contact with a manufacturer in China (but who also works from the same location as I).

Who took the jam out of John's donut this morning? Maybe he's just out of tea or something?

Francois - I may be in touch in next few months. Thanks!

Yeah, this is an idea I've had for 5+ years and it's finally coming to fruition due to the favorable conditions. And yeah, I'm a little tight lipped. If it makes you feel any better, the two meetings we have this week with the people we're working with for graphic design stuff don't even have a clue what the company they're meeting with is going to be doing.
