Rare Husqvarna - only this one
August 15, 2010 03:57PM
I know John's an Husqvarna fan. Any others? The company's 300 friking years old! Now owned by BMW so we may see new, exciting bikes.
I went to see my Swedish pal's 6-year work & dream - 1934 Husqvarna TT500 racer.

It's on display at : http://www.automobiledrivingmuseum.org/ near LAX. The museum is cool, too. On Sundays they give rides for free. If you get stack at LAX go and see. Kids welcome.
Chris found an old Husqvarna racing mechanic in Dalarna, Sweden, and hired him to hand build one for him! Like they built them in the 30s. He made patterns and casted cylinders, heads, drysump pump, etc. There are many magnesium and titanium parts, like originals. Unbelievable craftmanship.
Chris brought all pieces to LA, did all assembly, painting, etc. He rides it at MC shows and crowds just love it. Loud as hell, too.

I keep meaning to take a pic of my Husqvarna, but I've no clue where I've put it. Of course, mine is of the shooting variety, not the riding variety. tongue sticking out smiley

Well the Husqvarnas I've had were: a 4 burner cooking variety, and electric waffle iron variety, a 1910 cast iron waffle iron variety, and a excellent sewing machine variety in addition to 1970 250cc, 1972 250cc, 1974 250cc, 1977 125 and 360, 1980 390 moto-cross bikes, 1977 360, 1983 430 "sorta" enduro bike--but really those last 2 were assembled by me selecting exactly the parts I want in every area.
