So do I, no mention of headers or exhaust size, no mention of rear end (8" or 9"??) gearing. Ask for the numbers off the carb,
they're probably 1403 if electric choke, or 1404 if manual choke, which are 500cfm, not 750...

One other thing, that is a 1967, no side marker lights...

This is the point in the killing spree when you really should turn the gun on yourself

And there's absolutely nothing special about a "Shelby motor" IIRC. Just a regular 289 Hi-Po like thousands of Fairlanes and Falcons and Mustangs got.

That said, once you change the heads, cam, and bottom end, a 289 is a 289.

Which is why I say I smell BSing. Irrelevant/incorrect information in one place makes the rest of it suspect.

A *Holley* 750 actually works really nicely on a mild 289. I haven't really seen an Edelbrock carb work well on anything without a lot of tweaking. We acquired a much-tweaked Edelbrock for a customer's "440" (heh) and, surprise surprise, it required zero tweaking other than a tiny adjustment of the idle mixture screws.
