Why JV wants you to CALL

I've been trying to sell some stuff on Craigslist for a month and a half. I have probably four people who say they're "ready to buy" stuff, but when I give them my phone number to call and get off the damn pot and meet to make a deal, they never do.

And we're not talking $2,000 suspensions, these are $80-200 street car parts.

Goddamn clicky-clackers wasting my time. Ebay sucks, but at least when somebody hits the bid button, you have a reasonable chance of actually getting the deal done.....

that's still better than the honduh kids I occasionally try to sell stuff too...

text back and forth for a week or so
no contact for a week
text out of the blue
phone call saying "i'll come get it at xx:yy"
.
.
.
.
.
.
(they never show up, in case you didn't figger that out...)

90% sure that just about anything that's not a huge PITA to ship is going on ebay in the future...

That's why I sell shit to rally guys or it just goes in the dumpster. And I never go out of my way to sell something. They work on my schedule!

I thought is was just me. My favorite so far is the kid last week that wanted to trade me baseball cards for the Saab I am trying to sell.

Sellling to rally people is never a hassle. Of course I don't ahve any problems with the DS Moto or MTB crowds either. good people destroy machines in the dirt.

Yeah, my only hassle-free transactions have been to a rally guy (Focus wheels) and (amazingly) somebody on NASIOC (more Focus wheels).

Most everything else I can ship is going to end up on evilBay.

You are speaking about my life, I am selling a boat on Craigs List, lots of people want to come and look and event take rides but at the end of the day most of them do not have the money... Why take my time if they can not do the deal?

To top it off, I got my first negative feedback on evilBay today because some moron can't read a description. Instead of communicating his problem with me decided to put a black mark on 12 years of spotless reputation. Asshole. Had he emailed me, I would have taken some pity and probably sent him a partial refund, now I just want to send him an invoice for smearing my reputation on eBay.

The dumpster is looking like a better and better way of getting rid of surplus goods.

Im with Grant, if its to much work I will just throw it in the dumpster!
People cant even respond to any type of communication now a days!
Even if they are the person selling something!
