Hey John, on the subject of *GASP* "A new subaru"... Why couldnt you use these on a suby? Does IRS have a different shock placement or something? Or where you just harassing him?
If the suby's do have some different kind of shock mount thingy, how would WRC cars install longer shocks? Welcome to the cult of JVL drink the koolaid or be banned. |

Oi Tim, Looking at the bottom piccie of the bottoms, and bearing in mind the upper piccie of the upper seem to have SOME flexibility on the height of tower, youse stink that the whole tower might tolerate being up a skoootch so's the lower shock is off the springseat and maybe somewhere around midpoint of the axle tube. Huh? Whaddya stink? I'm thinking that the lower spring pans/link is going away, mounts will need to be made for shock and link pick up anysways so why mount the shocks to the lower link/spring seat onlt to have to chop all that off later. I sknows you're thinking, I just hain't seeing. > > > > > > John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! We just set the shock in there for reference it's actually about 2" down from the real location. New tabs that mount the shock eyelet level with the axle centerline are no problem. Al wants bolt in interchangeability for now with his spare rear axle that's getting a hydra-lok. That makes hooking it to the spring perch the easiest solution until he decides to go huge. Do you want me to make a pattern for the mounts so you can get them cut?

Yes please, I don't think Houston has the time to cut in the towers but he needs them all the same, I could drop them off at Olympus o r have somebody drop them off. > > Tim John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Hey Tim, Will there be some extra plates with curved cutout to match the wheel wells and connect the edges of these towers to the wells? Just thinking that would make everything stronger and better laterally suported. How does this seal out the dust from underneath?
Nice looking! Regards, Mark B. |

They would be much better attached to the floor on on the forward side of the axle tunnel and just inside of the wheel wells, there should be a reinforcing memeber under there; it can be seen in one of the earlier pix (wiped clean and showing yelow paint in the pix from the underside of the car). The floor plate for the backstays could be wrapped up and welded onto the forward side of these towers and even onto the wheel well to connect everything together even better. Regards, Mark B. |
