It's been something like two months since I was dropping Conquest struts off in Prescott Valley for a brother in West Virgina and I've news to report! After spending a weekend last month in Norwalk, Ohio, watching the DSM/EVO guys who aren't as interested in corners as we are at the DSM Shootout, I got sufficiently motivated to get off my arse and put in some serious wrench time on the Gaylant.
You can pretty much go through all the pictures in order in my gallery, but let's just say 195/2000 has gone from this... To this... To this... Rat fenders are just hanging there. The fender supports (for lack of a better word) still need aligned better, and there's just two bungee cords holding it in place right now. The FWD LS we cut the core off has a different front crossmember than the AWD models, so I'll have to figure something out on that front, but I am bound and determined to drive this fucking Galant to Prescott in three weeks. I may not be racing it, and I may not be doing sweep in it, but fucking a, I want to drive it to the rally. I think it would do me some good. Cheers. I'm drinking the last beer of the weekend and enjoying a well-fucking-deserved smoke before racking out for the night. One person is sure it's the same, another is sure it isn't. I forgot all about it until we turned the new core over to get a better angle with the Sawzall. SURPRISE! I'm going to ask my buddy what he thinks about chopping the old box to match the new core and going from there. Otherwise, I guess we could fab something up. I'm not too worried about this particular issue as much as I am about driveline alignment. The front motor mount took a solid hit, so I need to closely check out the other three mounts to be sure things are in there straight. I don't want to lose the tcase or something a block down the road because the engine is crooked. It doesn't *look* crooked, but... It's one of two times each year when I can get together *in person* with my buddies from the web and hang out. We're 2GNTers. We don't go to race. We go to drink and talk shit and maybe wake up in time for the Q16 finals on Sunday.

Still have to trim lower mounting points to accept the AWD crossmember, cap high pressure lines for 4WS deletion, and have it all welded, but so long as my welder buddy can make it over here in the next, oh, 10 days or so, this Misterbichy is going to Prescott on the 3rd. I don't know what your talking about. If it hadn't been for my job as a busser at a sushi restaurant I'd never be where I am with my car. Oh wait, I can turn that around though since I did meet my ex-wife at said sushi restaurant and the $10K I spent on marriage shit would have gone straight to the car, which is about what I made and spent on the car from working at the sushi bar. So I suppose it's a wash. Though I can't imagine what a hooker would cost for a years worth of sexual favors.
