Is it a new battery. 40 out of the last 50 batties Ive got out of these wrecked subarus ive torn apart are junk from the wreck. A lead battery cant handle the abuse of rally the plates move touch and draw them selves dead.
I guess ive said what I wanted to say and will let you sort this out and I hope im wrong but you are waisting your time trying to fix an engine miss with dash wiring. it is a machanical issue so go under the hood. Like I say I hope im wrong and I hope its the heater fuse causing your engine miss. Optima red top new last fall never been in a rally yet (yes I know all about the abuse they take in rally). I don't understand what it is "mechanical" that you want me to look at under the hood that I haven't already looked at. Haven't pulled the fuses recently. Only so many hours in a day.
Oh, and don't forget, only 12.5 volts at the ECU. Seems like wiring issue somewhere. Don Kennedy Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/09/2013 02:18PM by imnotcrazy. |

Don, concentrate on that 12.5 thing. He is probably right on the too much fuel thing, neartly everybody in all cars seem compelled to abide by the if XXXcc/min is good 130% of XXXcc/min is 30% better. But that hasn't been changed.. Besides your O2 would shopw some hint, and the sparleie plugskies would look like turds if it was some crazy rich thing from mondo injectors... I ain't the hot guy on electrical shit but by not thinking I usually get it dme---and its usually the simplest thing first and the cheapest thing next... FUEL PUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 25 yr old kid in the garage a stones throw away (Carriage Craft, he and his father and another guy work on MGs and TRs but he went to tech school for automotive and is into Hondas) has been pestering me to check fuel volume, not just pressure. Because of a foul up in my testing procedure, I never got a flow on the Walbro in the car, but I swapped out to a stock pump and got 234 LPH (Walbro is rated at 255 LPH). Pulled great to 7,000 twice. Will need to run the car again to make sure I'm not dreaming but don't want to upset the neighbors again too soon. Will eventually look into some wiring issues but not before the hillclimb next weekend. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Good to hear, Don! Been down that kind of road before.....one simple thing. I sure would be running down that 12.5v issue before too long....take a voltmeter and check the voltage right AT the connector into the ECU first though (and inside the ECU if you can get the cover off). Voltage sensors can be off....
