Ok, I'm still taking measurements of the front of the DSM suspension.
(I need to complete axle deflection measurements)
So far, it's not looking good, at my 'normal'competition ride height (an inch or so above stock), I've got about 7mm of compression travel before bump-stop contact, then about another 40mm of compression before the bump-stop is bottomed out.
Ouch.
The damper has about 6" of total travel. (front motion ratio is 0.90)
From readings, it appears that I might want about 1/3 of the available travel for droop, and 2/3 of the travel for bump/compression.
I'm not so sure that it's wise to raise the eclipse another 2 inches to get to that travel ratio.
Questions:
JVL, you mentioned that you would look up how much CV deflection or extension is 'too much'? Any ideas?
I can see that turreting the front upper strut mounts would be very beneficial.
Has anyone seen any pics of a turreted front suspension, preferrably a Mcpherson strut type? Can you post it or send a link? I'm looking for ideas and visualization here.
Thanks all.
