Turn the wire speed up a little when welding overhead. And try to avoid being directly under the dripping hot molten metal. Here's a tip: wear earplugs.

How about a pillow. And a hand trigger is nice. Don't try to weld up, let gravity work for you, not against.

The inverted welds are rarely flat so like Dave said always try to weld downhill MIG or TIG. If your welder has inductance control you can also adjust it to a crisper fast freeze arc that will hang better out of position. Also make sure to clean the tip more often. The little balls of spatter will build up in the tip blocking your shielding gas and bridging between the contact tip and the nozzle. Get a tub of dip type anti-spatter and your contact tips will last longer. Oh, and more practice...listen to the sound the arc is making.

Yeah, Ive got a hand trigger. I really suck with the foot pedal if i'm not sitting down.

How do you weld verticals or cage tubes? Start from the top and work down on each side? OR just all the way around, down on one side, up on the other? Or up from the bottom on each?

Top down if you can. Sometimes you gotta wing it and just do it however you can reach.
