OK I know polyurathane bushigs are stiffer and cooler looking and all that, but I have also heard they can wear fast, or somehow need constant maintainance. Is this true?

They are bright colors and more expensive, they must be better, right?

I recently went to a combination of poly, nylon, and solid on the rally car and it was a huge improvement. I found that the rubber wore out way to fast.

Bearings...poly is ok if you have to, delrin is better, but do bearings and never look back

Al --

You should go with poly over the rubber stuff. The modern poly is actually softer and more forgiving than the old SAM racing stuff was back in the day. I have some of those laying around and they are very hard (possibly nylon -- don't know what they're made out of). The torque arm rod bushings are particularly susceptible to quick damage (even in poly) -- but you may be doing some mad science project on those.

Super Pro brand is mostly what you'll find. IPD seems to be the only place to find certain decent bushings (ie. rear A-arm bushings).

Thanks Brian,

yeah, I figured I would just get IPD poly stuff. I just wanted to check if there was something better or they have problems with dirty conditions. I guess I will just get a lot of practice taking it apart and cleaning! We shall see if any other possitions will get those tasty rod end bearings from Tim's candy jar.
