Fuel tanks, fuel cells

Got the skinny on tanks. OE tank, OE location means just that. No mods to tanks or locations. So if you're going to swap engines, drive trains, whatever that would require fuel tank mods then the answer will be a fuel cell to FIA spec.

why not try to find a factory rally golf fuel tank and raised rear floorpan and weld it in then it would clear all your junk...

Its just money :-)

Fuel pumps, filters aren't restricted other than bulkhead requirements. I would say the baffles are part of the tank and should be left alone. The rule says OE tanks, OE location. Mike Hurst defines OE as not modified.

Nice... so an upgraded fuel pump in a Subaru is illegal, since that usually requires mods to the pickup.

Is the pickup part of the tank?

I think we're over thinking this one. Change the pump, change the pickup, don't move the tank or cut it and re-weld it.

Fuel cell size has to be equal or less than OEM tank?

They will have to be behind a bulkhead, IF they are allowed with a stock tank.
