What bits and pieces do you keep in the car? So far, I've got some extra lug nuts, fuses, duct tape, and zip strips. Thats all i've thought out so far. Do i really need anything more?

Yeah. I actually had some with me at RWV and Tim Oneil was looking for zip ties to tie his hand brake cable and I handed that instead. I also had with me at BRS 07 and handed some to another crew that broke their alternator bracket. It is cheap, flexible and strong.

+1 for safety wire & fanbelt. I also carry a small bottle of brake fluid and a relay.

A chunk of heater hose or a 12mm deep socket to splice heater hose with.

In the '63 SAAB, as first time rallists, we packed a spare belt, extra length of fuel line, hose clamps for large water, small water, and fuel, fuses, tie strap, zip-ties, lug bolts, a couple ignition wires, and some wire with spade terminals already crimped on. The car was built with spare fuel pumps and ignition coils already in place ready to swap wiring. The car is set up to carry two spare tires, but Paris has short, non-threatening stages, so we only carried one.
