Isn't there some tim guy locally that could cut a few sheets of these out of mild steel and you are good to go for dirt ass cheaper than the above?

And since you're doing some welding anyway you could use a weld nut on one of the pieces and then just zap it off with an impact. That would be just as fast as the springs
