Strut damage
June 05, 2012 01:23PM
Scott took apart his struts last week from his Impreza and discovered this on BOTH front struts. This is the worst and best pics of the four he sent me. Rest are in between but closer to worst than best.
This is the first time they have been disassembled since he bought them. These are Bilstein inserts in custom tubes, not John's stuff but basically a replica of his stuff. What it looks like is a regular nut was used the first time and impacted to point of stripping. Removed, threads tapped, and a taller nut was used when shipped.
I can't think of any scenario outside of that. The bump stops and grease were good so he decided to leave the rear alone not wanting to piss himself off more than he already is.

There's a reason I use M12 x1.75... hard to fawk up.
It seems some don't understand.. (Yes i know fine threads are stronger--when done perfectly but fine threads POST manufacture are easier to fawk up.. just use some of the commonly available hardware with it's piss poor loose fit....)

But that's an easy fix... if somebody asks.

So where did these "replicas" eye rolling smileycome from?

You really aren't in a position to be putting replica in quotes... 90 percent of your stuff is replica, lol. Quality or not aside, a replica is just not an original.

Yes little Timmyboy we stress to people its reproduction of stuff that's been around for decades before your crawled out. That's what makes it kind of funny in a stupid way. Nobody was manufacturing anything in North America, I begin in 2002 and somebody copies my stuff, somebody who has/had no a hint of how to choose valving, somebody whose only experience prior to wheedling one set with promises of selling "piles and piles of your stuff" and immediately they are now a machinist and a suspension expert..
That's funny replica of a replica of a replica..
It's called irony, Timmy.

You are in a position to comment on this thread are you? are you?
Are you going to help the poor guy?
Then what are you trolling for here?

Who is Dazed Driver? Do you have a real name? One thing I like about this board is the real name rule thingy.

Nah, knowing me, I probably took it off because enough people knew who I was and I felt like being rebellious, haha.

"Put your name up, Timm!"

"...Why?"

See? haha

Timmy von Derau

The little shit can troll that I don't scold one newbie for not having a full name up, but flaunts what he knows is a rule himself.
And of course couldn't be bothered to say anything aboutthe full name to the newb himself.

He has a signature which is a provocation, he breaks the one hard rule, and shows no respect for anybody thereby.

But mostly everybody just ignores him, he's the forum chihuahua.
