Well I feel a lot better about my fabrication skills now!

Well said... and me too!

Not driving a car like it was meant to be driven to keep it nice for the next owner is like not having sex with your girlfriend so her next boyfriend will enjoy her more.

this is what I suggest : go there ( to the "shop" that did that ) every day post up and tell them you wont leave until they refund you in full... harass them and do what you can to make them want to give you $$$...$ back just to make you go away. threatening bad press also helps

In theory the cage could be cut out, cleaned and re-installed by someone more competent, like your average 6 year old chimp with poor vision and a broken paw. Odds are the guys cut something to make it fit and more than one element will need replaced. Going to be costly for sure. Sad. Even the local dirt track wouldn't allow that type of welding.

No one can ever make you pay for something with threats. As soon as they physically touch you it becomes some form of strong arm robbery (or whatever term is used locally). Even if they somehow intimidated him verbally into paying for it that is still prosecutable in most areas, well maybe not Chicago.

How does something go so wrong?
