A tech edge has shown up locally for $100...

These things decent?

I want to install a wideband to help tune this damn thing (soon! it's happening soon I think!)

dude it may only have one, but it's wide!

I figure building a bottom end isn't going to solve the fact it runs like carp over half the throttle settings. .. and while I ain't colour blind reading plugs takes time and maybe a wide band would make running the beast an afternoon job instead of a week.

could be rich, could be lean this is way I'd know, cause a machine told me so.

There was a bit of "ethical controversy" about the design and how much/little certain folk contributed to a "public project" (diy-WB project) when the owner of that company first started selling them - but IIRC the Engineering behind the 'lectronics was sound.

Heck, I think I even have some boards left-over from a beta WB-controller LED display.

Haven't used one in a while but they are pretty solid.

Something to think about is new widebands are not that much more (including the new sensor). If that sensor has been beat to death with leaded fuel/old age/etc then you might need one right out of the gate to get a good result.

I've got a Tech edge wideband, has served my well. Mine is a newer model than than and i bought it AAAAGGGGGESSS ago.

But John is right about the sensor. Price up a brand new sensor into the deal and then see if it's still good value for you.
