USUK Racing LED-Light-Bar Comparison
September 07, 2013 11:48AM
We took the rally car over to a dark stretch of road near Umstead State Park to take some comparative photographs of the LED Light Bars. It's very hard to make night shots come out right but we tried to make sure they had equal exposures. The three pictures here show the same stretch of road using the stock high beam lights, the 4,800 lumen 6 LED Light Bar and the 9,600 lumen 12 LED Light Bar.

Thanks, Simon. Were the LED bars aimed the same? The brightest photo looks like some of the light arae aimed a bit higher. But is it hard to tell from photos. Mark B.

Unlike a light pod with 4 distinct beams, the LED Light Bar's 12 lamps have a smoother illumination field. To get them nicely aligned takes a few attempts at tweaking and then actually driving with them to see how the road surface and tree lines etc are lit. We didn't have time to do that so we just aimed them as best we could by hand and eye. The shorter light bar was mounted more to the left (driver side) of center. The longer bar was mounted centered on the car. But both were at the same height.

So the short answer is, yes, there's a chance they were not quite aimed the same.
