Some bits of information. The 4.10 gears really wake the XR4 up on the road course, wow. We were nursing a miss over 4,500 rpm (until the engine destroyed the 1, 3, and 4 pistons) as well as ignition problems. Thanks to the shorter gears, we could drive around it and still be competitive. The downside to the shorter gears was we were shifting more, and managed to grenade the T9 gearbox about halfway through Sunday. We got it swapped in two hours and got back out for more fun. Prodrive we aren't. ![]() We made our halfshaft/CV adapters out of some super hard steel that was sitting in the scrap pile at work. We made the mounting brackets out of whatever scrap steel was laying around, and that stuff ended up being underbuilt for bouncing off track curbing for hours and hours. ![]() You know you've done well when 24 Hours of LeMons Chief Justice Phil says, "I've never seen THAT happen before!!!!" We went lighter duty thinking that road race pooftas didn't need the extra heavy duty mounts. Wrong. Funny thing is, it still went down the track less than horribly even with the diff bouncing off the tarmac! We zapped it back in place with some extra steel and were good to go for the finish. In short, since he has this stuff ready to go and it looks beefier than hell, BUY JV's KIT!!!!! We may get just the "pumpkin" mounts if possible (John, email me a price...I'm going to bed soon, don't call). Andrew Steere Lyndeborough, NH KB1PJY |

I have all that. Picking it all up from getting plated on next Monday. I'll have to inventory exactly how much I have, since I scrounged around junk yards over the last 6 mo, I lost track. Let me know if you're interested. Goes for everyone. |
Sure! Count me in for a set. Thx |
