VW MK2 Rally Car, one hell of a deal!
October 03, 2016 11:17AM
Not mine, but it looks like a really nice starter car if the cage is all good.

From Ad:
Full rebuild, port and polish, tons of work on the head. All work done at a local Salem machine shop.
9a Block 2.0L block with PL1.8 16v Head
Weisco 12.1:1 Compression pistons
Techtonics 288 hydro cams
Techtonics Tuning cam gear
Borla Webber style ITBs with foam filters and 2 inch stacks
Weber type intake manifold
Adjustable FPR
Megasquirt w/ bluetooth adapter
Brospeed header, custom 2.5 inch exhaust
heavy duty valve springs
Solid front engine mount (rest are standard)
External air oil cooler

Less than 1000 miles

12pt Rally America Spec Cage
Sparco Seats
Lexan windows with sliders for ventilation
Custom wiring done the right way with weatherPac plugs
stitch welding on key areas
Koni Coil overs with H&R progressive springs
10.1 Slotted and vented rotors with hawk blue pads
Custom brake lines everywhere
Hydraulic handbrake
knob type brake proportion valve
sparco FIA approved seats
Expired harnesses (but still perfectly usable)
mk3 fuel tank and external fuel pump delete
Full polyurethane bushings where availiable
Lightweight Gas mat type battery in the back w/ mount
Smoked aeros and euro style tail lights...badge-less grill

020 Transmission
USRT Shifter setup
Quafie LSD
Light weight flywheel
All new axles and hardware

Price: $7500

Tons of other stuff, so much I cant remember. Has been a long project (9 years).
Car was initially intended to be a Group 2 rally car, so cage is built to spec. Has been driven a handful of times, runs great, rails corners. Everything is new or rebuilt.
I will sell the car for 6k with teardrop alloys that have tires that are done...but still hold air. Car has a title and is registered. No test drives without cash in hand.

Hes got it listed on Special Stage, and it looks real nice. If this had been 6 months ago, and on the East Coast, I would have bought this instead of starting on my project. Killer deal if the cage is actually up to spec, and able to be log-booked.
