SOLD!!! 1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS - SOLD!!!!
August 25, 2010 10:11PM
Name: Joel

Location: Pleasanton, CA

For Sale: 1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS (5 speed manual transmission).

Price: $4000 or best offer.

The engine has rod knock. This is a perfect chassis for another RS engine or a WRX or STi swap. Chassis has 162,xxx miles on it. My wife will not let me keep it, so it must go.

I have never drag raced, drifted, raced or abused this car.

The good:
chassis (no rust)
brakes (has upgraded rotors, pads and braided steel brake lines)
suspension (all stock)
interior (normal signs of usage and wear - will supply photos upon request)
clutch (Stage 2 kevlar clutch disc with upgraded braided steel clutch line)
exterior (normal signs of its age)
upgraded headlight and foglight bulbs (factory housings and factory wiring - UNCUT harness)
all exterior lights work (with blinking 3rd brake light)
all interior lights work (both map lights and overhead lamp)
cd/mp3 deck works perfectly (also comes with the remote)
upgraded front and rear speakers
air condition works perfectly - blows very cold!
heater and defroster works perfectly
factory 99 RS wheels (rare wheels - very LAST photo is of the factory wheel)
factory wing and fog lights (not aftermarket)
factory intake
factory exhaust
sunroof works 99% of the time - once in a great while, you need to press it lightly with your finger to get it to open
brand new upper and lower radiator hoses
brand new factory radiator cap
new thermostat (factory temperature)
STi alternator (100amp versus the original 60amp)
STi engine mounts
STi transmission mount
STi pitch stop mount
power steering has absolutely no leaks

The bad:
engine has rod knock - must be rebuilt or replaced
clock on the dash works sometimes (a light tap on the dash gets it working most of the time)
5th gear has a very light grind at freeway speeds, but it only happens sometimes
front windshield is cracked (i will take off the amount needed for replacement off the purchase price)
front passenger floor mat is strained from soda spilling on it
missing 1 rear speaker cover
front driver's side axle boot is torn - i have a replacement axle that comes with the vehicle

I am willing to entertain reasonable offers but, NO LOW BALLERS.

Seriously, thank you.
It seems that one thing of requiring names and locations allows this place to run without virtually any moderation since people then act like people...

When you sell this what's your plans?

use the $ to get my 1982 Toyota Starlet and 1986 Toyota Mr2 running. smiling smiley both are projects, so they need the $.

but, honestly, AWD is just not my cup of tea. the understeer and lackluster turn-in response frustrate me greatly. plus, i'm just a Toyota guy. i respect their engineering and reliability of their 80's cars. the only car of Toyota's from the 90's i would HAPPILY own is the 1999 Corolla from Europe. smiling smiley as one might guess, it was used as the chassis for the Corolla WRC car.

Cool, I kinda have a soft spot for "Toilettas" also.
Kinda....but I sure as hell can't deny how well they CAN work with Lego like interchangability--that I like..
The Starlet going to be a rally car???

You seen these Finnish F-cup vids so full of the nastiest Toyotas ever???

with the exception being this RS, every car i've ever owned has been a Toyota.

and, as per the Starlet...

the Starlet that I have will become my daily driver. when more time/money becomes available, i'll be making a dedicated rally car for myself. smiling smiley
