Barn Finds just did a write up on Dean Blagowsky's SX-4 which is for sale. Looks like a sweet setup, but not sure what it will go for. http://www.barnfinds.com/field-find-1982-amc-sx-4-rally-car

Such a nice, sweet, nimble slot car of a rally car, too.
No vile traits, none at all. It should be competitive today. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Pacific Standard Time is 3 hours behind Eastern Standard Time. |

and it went from Colorado to Detroit to Madison Ohio. See me showing if off for 15 minutes of fame on ebay right now, as I restore it to the Dean car color, still underneath the blue color. Applying new decals to bring it truly back to vintage historical. Did Dean install the V8 390 ? its awesome !

yes it is episode with the two Chargers with hemi... about 20 minutes in.
ITs too bad those two guys are 'ignorant' of the history of AMC Pro Rally. For example, Gene Henderson is in the SCCA Hall of Fame and he raced Jeeps and AMC Eagle SX4 also. I subscribe to Hot Rod and Car Craft, I'll send them a 'letter' to update them. |

restoring it to its 1983 time period look. very lightly sanding the blue paint off exposing the original silver metallic paint. bought decals to place according to those 1983 - 1984's Rally pictures.
then depending on the budget may replace the 390 V8 heads with Edelbrock race heads and race cam. The car is 'slow' compared to my 1979 AMX with a 360 5 speed, upgraded as stated. and will have the reverse manual valve body replaced in the automatic transmission with a normal valve body. ensure its 'road worthy' and start driving it to local AMC and car shows. Front suspension was modified from day one with 3 shocks each side on front suspension. replacing the shocks but not enough spread length to really work I suppose unless leaving the ground allowing the shock to really work... spent close to $400 on replacing them, rides like no suspension at all. |

well... I'll hold on to it as long as I am able. getting old & my son won't be able to 'take' all my cars. will probably only keep my 70 Javelin factory prepped Mark Donohue with 390 option 4 speed.
I have a 'clone' 79 AMX painted like the BF Goodrich sponsored cars raced at Norburgring 24 hours in 1979. Will sell my 73 Gremlin X 304 soon. Maybe also the 81 Eagle SX4 with less than 50,000 miles |
