I've never been hit while shooting you guys. Clearly you need to keep it.

Then your photos must be kinda boring. smiling smiley

Rule #1 of shooting rally: If you are not in imminent danger, the shot is not worthwhile.
Rule #2 of shooting rally: You are not to talk about rule #1 or #2 and they supercede any future rules that may be contradictory.
Rule #3 of shooting rally: Always stand in a safe location.
Rule #4: Bring one lens for each stage of shooting if John Lane's Volvo has entered event. You will need them. Alternatively you can shoot from behind a sheet of 3/4" polycarbonate.

Don't #1 and #3 contradict each other? tongue sticking out smiley

Reread rule 2. Rule 1 and 2 came before 3.

Timm isn't really a photog so those rules don't apply..he is actually an 'action' Etch-a-Sketch artist so even on the trailer Lane's car is too fast for him....spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

My car is seemingly too expensive for any of the broke-ass degenerates on Rally Anarchy.

Not a nibble.

It's been proven enough times. I don't think there has ever been a motor in North American rally with more bhp..He won that one a long time ago.

Of course its mostly pissed away but with lots of grip like a asphalt drag strip--naw, it's pissed away on aspahlt too-- it smokes the tires the full length of the 1/4 mile.

(The machine shop I go to for 25+ years is near the Seattle International or whatever they call it and was there just casually watching the Foriegn Drags--he's a top fuel guy himself--- but I did the internal parts he did the machine operations---anyway he said all the little ricers are sitting in puddles and skoking their tires and posing. Lane pulls up and on clean dry asphalt floors it and the thing was dancing a little and 2= foot flames bang out the tail pipe when it was on the rev limit..He's cracking up watching cause its impressive, but everybody else is like stopped in mid step--frozen and every jaw you could see is dropped and the expression is like WOT DA FAWK????!!!!!"
Lane said every run its was squirming a bit the whole way from wheelspin and the organisers came up and "talked to him" about it..

Lane did win Doo Wops just a few years ago, so on gravel its about as quick as a well built and hard driven Rabbit (Tom B's single fuel pump died about 7mi from Overall win)
just over 500 bhp at low boost, and around 530 fft/lbs--low boost..

Keep in mind that my 'Big Wins' have been sans practice.

I would dearly love to have time and money to well and truly 'get acquainted' with her..... My driving pretty consistently improves during the course of each week-end of abusing the car....

Alas; priorities are elsewhere.

I'd prefer she go to a good home where she'd be properly abused.

John you'd be shocked at just how well she accelerates on hard packed gravel with warm tires. Much much better then that best trip down the 1/4 mile track that made for a 13.5 at 105mph.... Yes the Honduhboyzzz did then wonder just what the hell happened. Hee-hee

Which was done on old rally tires that were spinning in top gear at the end of the track...

My pair of stripes could be easily seen for the full length of the quarter.... Certainly not a straight pair of stripes....

That was to pee laughing. Rallytires get greasy on tarmac. Ended up leaving the line in second gear cuz first was good for all of about ten feet.

The interesting thing about this car is how easy it is to drive, OK the clutch is a little on off, but that is not a problem there is so much tq the wheels just spin. The power steering, the shifting, the brakes - everything is easy and well balanced. Drives around town just fine.

The car has massive power but it is not high strung twitchy power. My Golf was far harder to drive than the Volvo SPE is. RWD with a broad tq band is simple simple simple.
