Datsun 280z in MN
July 16, 2013 06:25PM
Looking to sell my Z, for the normal reasons....you know....hookers and blow. Obamacare is taking its toll already.....

Anyhow......

Car runs great. Doesn't leak a drop of anything, runs and drives amazingly well and gets more thumbs up than anything else I've ever driven. It really does go to your head after a little while......

Pros
MSA coated header
MSA twice pipes
Intake
Shaved intake manifold, EGR, decel switchy mabob, cleaned up engine harness, cold start injector, etc(look at pictures)
Homemade fuel rail with -6 pushloc and an fittings.
15x7 Enkei 92s(real, not the remakes) with AVS ES100s. Decent tread left.
Semi polished valve cover
Suspension is tight and still confidence inspiring
Brakes are firm with no noise, mush, vibrations/pulsations
Solid shifter bushings(a million times better than rubber)
Still has OEM spare tire, jack, tool kit and tire inflator

Cons
Small exhaust leak(lazy on my part. Not a big deal)
Few spots of rust here and there with the worst on a small section of the DS frame rail. A Saturday box job and it'd be 100%. Debating on fixing that, the price will go up a bit considering the rest of the rust on the car is surface. Hatch area good, light surface, shock towers and floor pans perfect.
Bypassed the heater core. It's plugged and I never had ANY intention on driving in cold weather or even weather I'd have needed defrost even.
Starts harder in cooler weather being as I shaved off a bunch of stuff. Once warm it purrs. Keep in mind, this is like sub 60 degree temps she gets all bitchy...

All in all she's a great car. Drives staight as an arrow at 70mph, stops, turns and pulls great. Would jump in this car and drive to Canada or California or wherever.

Asking $2500. I need a cage and JVL bump suckers. I want this car gone.

I also have a bunch of extras, that I'd sell with for a bit more. These were all in preparation to go in next winter when I did standalone.

Big ass SBC aluminum rad with electric fan
Oil cooler kit with cooler, lines, fittings and filter plate.
Megasquirt 3 flying lead harness
Injector pigtails
Innovate wideband
60-2 Dampener. I machined the outer belt groove and pressed on a ford wheel. Bolts right on.
CLT/IAT sensors with bungs and pig tails.
Locked dizzy.
Msd ignition

Just need the actual MS3 ecu, 240sx TB and adapter, throttle cable and ford crank sensor. I'll have pics up later of all the extra crap that I won't really need when my fleet is -1 Datsun.

Call, text, PM, post whatever have you.

I forwarded this to a certain rally-drving 280Z guy...seems like a great deal if a screwdriver doesn't poke any holes except where mentioned above!

And at least 2 and maybe 4 sanctioning bodies, not counting California Rally Series bizzare home grown rules for the 18-20 guys down there who need their own rules...
And 1/2 the State Governemnts locked 50/50, the Federal Govt gridlocked arguing things the rest of the civilised world settled long ago..A President well to the Right of Richard M Nixon, yet hated by people because he's a "Lib'ral" and half-black....(just one drop, they say)

I appeiciate that! Cars solid. Pass fender has a small hole, left rear quarter(shows in one of the pics) has a small hole and the rest is surface stuff. Only concerning spot is the frame rail. Which is rusted in an awkward fashion. Only about 7-8" long spot. Rest of the chassis is solid.
