They'll log book anything in SoCal..and such a deal, its RWD and parts are easy, it's almost the ideal club level car at only $55,000....

I wonder if its the smog that long term kills critical brain cells or is it just huge quantities of mixing too much drugs that end in "ene" or "aine"..
Those drugs are the ones that seem to make this crazy psychoses..

Like this http://www.porsche.com/usa/eventsandracing/motorsport/racingcars/911gt3cup-997/ but 13 years older.

Or, this http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/porsche-cup-cars/741522-fs-2001-996-gt3-cup.html with a few less upgrades, but fewer hours on the engine.

Either way, if I had $50k+ to spend on a 911, it wouldn't be one from a craigslist ad boasting about 700 horsepower.

Cage looks pretty damned nice, as does the car. Not sure I understand JVs log book cheap shot....

Add also claims 300hp, not 700hp which was stated as the level for the fuel pump delivery I believe.

Prive seems a tad high to me but I don't travel in the Porsche world often. Probably a shitload of fun tho.

Maybe because SoCal produces a lot of VERY STRANGE ideas of what a rally car is and they will ---whoever "they" are, will log book anything....

On reflection, this IS the perfect SoCal 'rally car'...
All about glitz, glamor, posing. Like everything else in SoCal.

"We" logbook only vehicles that meet the construction rules of a sanctioning body. That Porsche looks very well constructed so your implication that it was incorrectly or inappropriately logbooked is flawed.

As to the rally ability of a 911, they have been proven to be a very capable platform in all sorts of motorsports including both tarmac and gravel rally. I'd guess they have achieved much higher finishes than most Volvos ever dream about.

Now the SoCal remarks...um, er..no argument on that.

Brent thinks a nice widebody 911 is worth 30-40k so the guy isn't really that far off I guess.

Gene, 911s were routinely stomped to death by mere Ford Escorts..
Hell Saab 96s beat them too...too heavy for the meager power they made.
Big engines meant higher min weight. (same reason why almost all the GpB turbo cars were around 1730cc--so they wouldn't be in the "Corrected 3.0 liters engine capapcity" and have a higher min weight. So 1.7 under 3.0 corrected)

But you're reading too hard, I just find it funny how many wierd things are called "rally cars" when they just poseur cars

Lol, Gene, he's not far off 930's are selling anywhere from 40-50k! plain jane 911's are asking anywhere from 20-35. It's unreal how much they've gone up. there is a spec 911 on ebay asking 50K right now (from a dealer...)

I'd love to take it for a spin, but that's tear shedding money if you ever wad it up.
