Just saying, it'll be funny to your friends and those just purusing. But for those who are actively looking to spend $45k on a valued collectors car..... well they probably won't appriciate the ad nearly as much as your buddies do.

Maybe you should try Bring a Trailer instead of craigslist.
Is a 88 911 really worth $45k? I have trouble thinking of any Porsche being worth more than a few thou but then again, not a Porsche fan.

Just a glorified VW with shitty ground clearance and a tendency to oversteer.

Seems legit http://www.hagerty.com/price-guide/1988-Porsche-911

The ad, not so much. Seems more like a scam to me.

Just a glorified insanely unjustifiable overpriced VW with shitty ground clearance and a impossible to cure design flaw that makes them want to swap ends at the slightest loss of rear grip...

Fixed that for ya.
I mean 911s were ground into the dust by the simplest of cars around, little ol' innocent Escorts. They were always too heavy, and underpowered for the weight.

Anybody who has ever play darts in a pub knows the heavy end wants to lead..fortunately darts have a point at the heavy end.

I've never seen an escort that can blow a turbo off the road, if you can prove that I'd be interested

I forgot that every escort ever made is a drag car… but in the real world when the two of these cars pull up to a stop light next to each other I think we all know that a turbo flat six with no wheel spin beats an I4 with a lot of spin

Horrible ad...but 930's, as is with all air-cooled Porsches, are appreciating in value..

How about some pictures?

First, those histroic cars are being built "waaaaaaaaaay badder" than back in the day..
(I am doing several rods and forged pistons sets for some FIA Appendix k Historic cars in Sweden...These rods are nothing like OEM Ford Pinto or Saab 99 rods...one set is +10mm c-c, the other is +13..and much much shorter--and therefor lighter pistons.)
Second in your results look at the cars just ahead or behind; Fawkin 1600 8 v twin cam---a fawkin 2000cc Ford 8v cast iron head Pinto...
Sure those things are insane expensive, especially relative to us cheap ass whiners here..
But come on those Appendix K Porsches have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
bigger motors, good boxes, and they can't do better than a little 1600 Twin Cam or Pinto powered car?

They aren't THAT good, Porsche like BMW lives MAINLY on fan-boi hype...
Thety've NEVER been very good---except in road race classes in Germany where the classes are tailored to them.

Well, those Fords are being built "waaaaaaaaaay badder" than back in the day too.

But I agree. Porsches in general aren't great cars. What IS great about them was the factory support for racing, the high profile of the factory race cars (fan-boi-ism), and the expense and alure of the cars.

Today there are so many better ways to build a competition car.
