Looking for a log booked starter car prefer a ford focus but open to any other cars as well. Even if it needs work! I am looking at $8k or less and east coast.

I've got a logbooked "project" 1996 VW Golf. Practically enough spares to build two cars.

$6K.

How about a Ford Contour SVT?
Caged, logbooked, with a few small rallies under it's belt and some mainly cosmetic scars.

Would be much less then your target price so you could also use the money left in your budget for needed items like a rally comuter, intercom, dash, wheels/tires, and transport to East coast.
