If you were curious, you would ask. Or come by and see---and maybe discuss other stale shit like your abandoned Opel project that I finally bought 2 sets of main bearings for--- If you were interested in dialog, discussions, enlightening or helping others you would ask first and then you would say " Well the bushings are xxmm high made of this material on those and they are XXmm on yours and made of whateverium---(and if you WERE interested in helping people understand you'd go on) and that means that these will last 7.39 times longer....and blah blah..blah balh blah." And if you were interested in dialog, discussion, enlightening others or helping---which is not your intention, or Jays---you would say "MAYBE its different material for the bushings or slightly different seal----but no FUNCTIONAL difference or difference in reliability...." But you didn't. You argue, State as declarative sentence, nitpick like you're playing Inter-net gotta win, and only ask at the end "are you" Well Dave the guys numbering somewhere around 80 units who have gotten new 50mm stuff, they know. But then they are interested enough to talk. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Semantics and not answering the question.
Semantics and more not answering the question.
MORE semantics and not answering the question
Of course he stated it as a declarative sentence, what he stated was true, your wordsmithing around the actual discussion is irrelevant.
People who know no better know no better. And at the end of the day, price is usually the number 1 driving factor in a purchase (or more specifically, the "idea" that you got a "good" price). Your stuff is basically the cheapest on the market that does the job required. And also, there are EIGHTY people running your 50mm suspensions? That is impressive! |

Happy thanksgiving to you. And i'll ask you, since you're trolling so hard: why didn't you do a morison full-parse line by line questioning of Clark and Jay? because you are not curious, you're just trolling... Have a day. I think it is. Some front runners too. As stated before, Johns stuff fills the void and at a pretty good price for the guys who would rather save some money and have to tinker a little bit with fitments than spend however much more on "bolt in" stuff at 3x the price. Especially the guys with NO off the shelf parts available. Soooo much bitching around here lately. Myself included..... I must not be the only one without a heated shop to work in ha! That time of year I guess. |

I can't disagree with this at all, and I wasn't being sarcastic about 80 people having bought his 50mm stuff, it is pretty impressive considering how small the North American rally market is. I didn't even bother to read his post though after mine, as I can only imagine what he has his knickers in a twist about now... |

There was no need, as they adequately DESCRIBED IN FULL DETAIL THEIR POSITION IN A CLEARLY WORDED MANNER AND WAITED FOR YOUR REBUTTAL. Rather than a convoluted destruction of the English language resulting in paragraphs of gibberish that at the end of the day don't answer the questions asked. |

Still unable to ever presume anything correctly. Wrong as usual. Must be terrible to be so incompetent at something you so much yearn for some status in. Don't quit your day job. Options!
#1. NVM. It turns out that, a little while ago, when my wife asked me to "check the turkey," she meant the dead bird in the oven, not JVL. #2. My day job involves "selling" stuff that isn't new (e.g, stats from the 50s) as if it were new; thus, my day job is the same as yours, it seems. #3. You went OT and ad-hom again, requiring the following response: fuck off. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 11/28/2013 06:56PM by Iowa999. |

I guess the unanswered question is now:
Are the strut bodies new or 'refurbished' Functionally not much of a difference since 'refurbished' parts from the factory are usually checked to be within new specs and are often little more than returned, opened stock that is repackaged. Also Adam, John said 80 units... a bit of obfuscation that makes it unclear if there are 20 people with 4 corners out there or ??? Also, is this the 'new' Billy 50 mm or the old struts that I thought (and would hapilly be wrong) were actually 40 or 45? Doesn't much matter in the long run. Everyone knows that John makes a cost friendly strut option that comes with some really good information and knowledge behind them. Everyone also knows that there may be some small fitment issues from time to time but John does his best to make things right... This thread is much more about the completely unrelated BS that flows on this site too regularly that makes it less and less attractive to visit.
