I've held the dyno sheets in my had and torque was around 530..hp around 515...and that was low boost. But according to some I am a liar so oh well... Whatever it is, it is inarguable absurd and even ridiculous amount of power and mostly wasted effort. If anybody (else since I've done it and posted it before) bothered to do the math what reaches the rear wheel its good but not really that much more than a well done 2300 turbo with the normal gearbox (T5) and axle (4.4 or 4.56) that I encourage both of which cost several thousand dollar less than the Jerico box and Ford 9" set up he used. Its so much torque at the engine that he has gear the car higher than a road car to take the edge off, last I head using a 3.08 final drive. That said there is no arguing that Lane knows how to drive really well, a shame he makes "self made problems' which makes his job of driving and putting down power so much harder.. Damned shame that JVL is utterly unable to leave shit that isn't his business alone. JVL Do not continue to poke at me on that subject. It will not end well for you. I'm no hero as a driver... I've abused it and laughed myself silly doing so. Spectators enjoy this. Get it straight JVL.... It was 504lb/ft at 11lbs of boost at the wheels with an intercooler that made for a turbo that was audibly working harder than after giving it the Powerstroke I/C that made for ambient intake temps and much faster turbo response. Turning boost up to 15lbs really woke it up.... Cuz 500lb/ft at the rear wheels just wasn't enough. He who likes to believe that big power in rear drive is wasted effort hasn't been for a ride with me in the Volvo... With the Sellholm suspension package she just puts the power down... It's amazing how she accelerates on gravel... How she'll dance through turns... You'd think that the power would just get spun away.... Nope. The power is applied. Were I the hero as a driver I'd beat the field by a minute or more a stage.... Vance and I did that in the Geo ![]() Final drive ratio is now 3.0 with ratios in the Jerico done just so to match. Damned shame that the Quarter master three disc clutch isn't up to the task since it got the bigger turbo. Clutch slips in third and fourth.... The car pulls harder than a certain modified MB S-65 I drove a while back that sported 900lb/ft. JohnLane Overkill is consistently more fun Edited 1 time(s). Its exactly the same inverted 50mm Bilsteins as I sell but in a traditional fixed tube. Ya know where the tube is welded into the bottom forging that the spindle sticks out of.. Cost is more than double and a half, plus airfreight, plus customs plus brokerage charge.... enough to bankrupt a person... But paying double or triple is OK for the exact same things ....as Gene keeps saying not everybody is as broke ass as I am.... ![]() John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! In my case.... For a Volvo 240 Front coil-overs, Spherical top mounts, Tubular control arms with spherical bushings to increase front track width, Ambulance Spindles, Alcon calipers, rotors on hats. In the rear... Shocks for standard location and springs. I paid Sellholm for it.... The Kit arrived... I put it into the car and it all worked perfectly without any drama. Yup.... Cost more than JVL's product.... Perhaps he's got a line on Ambulance spindles? I had a standard spindle fail on stage. Once was enough. JohnLane Overkill is consistently more fun |

John, how can you say your stuff is exactly the same? It is not. Your stuff is a good value for your target audience and price point but it is not exactly the same as Sellholm. Sellholm uses much better bushings and seals and new Bilstein inserts, not used ones (or are you supplying new inserts now?) |

Hey Dave, YOU don't know what you are talking about... you're a good welder and you bend tubes and paint good but don't tell me aboout things you don't know about. For example : what is the height of the bushes in Sellhoms? What material? What is height in Bilsteins 50? What material? What seals? What makes them MUCH better? fuck i have no time for BS like this. WHO told me what material to use in mine? What I at times find tedious…
Lack of straight answers and cherry picking postings: Dave wrote: "new Bilstein inserts, not used ones (or are you supplying new inserts now?)" JVL response: Hey Dave, YOU don't know what you are talking about... you're a good welder and you bend tubes and paint good but don't tell me aboout things you don't know about. Life would be so much simpler if straight answers were provided and less clouded matter. Don't we have enough of that in politics? |

Jay I knowe you're good buddies with Lane and Clark but I'll ask you to be honest: Why can Dave 'trash talk" my stuff AND NOT get a comment from you? he doesn't know what my stuff is and what these other things are--what is same and what is different. FIRST he STATES something-- which obviously he knows nothing about-- THEN finally he asks at the end., That's bullshit. WHY no criticism of that bullshit? Why no criticism of Lane's not at all veiled threats he's done some which he edited away some just above ....talking to people about using a baseball bat "when he comes to visit" John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Just because you say something doesn't make it true, John. I don't know what your stuff is and what these other things (presumably you're referring to the Sellholms) are? I certainly beg to differ. I've had both your stuff and Sellholms stuff apart. They are not "exactly the same." You keep using that phrase but I do not think you know what it means. I am not meaning to trash talk your stuff, I am just calling you out on your constant claims that your stuff is "exactly the same" as Sellholm when anyone can see, if they compared them that is just not true. In fact, I gave you props: "Your stuff is a good value for your target audience and price point". It fills a much needed niche at the affordable end of the scale.
So are you supplying new inserts now or not? I honestly don't know. I STATED something because I KNOW you were supplying rebuilt used inserts in the past (nothing wrong with that if people know what they're getting), then I ASKED because I didn't know if maybe you were supplying new ones now and didn't want to mislead anyone. But the source has so far neglected to clarify that matter. Just a hint... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/28/2013 06:41AM by Doivi Clarkinen. |

Why? Here's why. The suspenders Dave built for me bolted right directly up without the slightest issue and have been one of the most troublefree components on my car ever since. in the halfdozen rallies since. And here is a for sale post that showed up recently.. http://www.clubprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?62184-FS-BF-GTX-40mm-Inverted-Bilstein-Rally-Car-Struts
