I believe Wilson had THREE old rally tires (NOS) blow out at Sandblast 2008. At least one of them was on a transit and sent him off the road and into the ditch (luckily not across oncoming lanes of traffic)....

I had a set of old Michelins literally fall apart after a rallycross. Almost every treadblock was gone on the entire tire. The age was completely unknown, but they were older than 5 years is all I know.
Hankook's don't seem to hold up well to age. We've been running Tanner's old tires from 2006 and they seem to be degrading relatively quick.
