It's damn near free money. Build the fuckin Gaylant, not the Esclipese with their wacky alleged dooooble-A arm shit,. Pay of the debts slowly. Keep that girlie Eclipse for cruising the BLVDs. Gaylant= proven in the WRC as a good chassi dimensionally Escipse=proven pain in the ass to use on gravel. Don't make me get Mustafa to come smack you! EDIT 2:
Dammit. You guys really have me thinking. I'm all set on making the Talon a rally car in the interest of bringing rally exposure to the DSM communities of which I am highly active (not to mention learning the ropes in a slow, mechanically simple NA FWD car), but I forget just how much work it would take to turn an abused (both inside and out) GVR4 into a presentable daily driver. It would be easier for me to make the Talon look pretty than the Galant. The Talon gets 30mpg or better in-town. I could never wrap my "Daisy" around a tree without crying. (Laugh all you want, this was my first new car and I've had her almost a decade, now.) The Galant, while certainly a very nice car with many bells and whistles, is beat up. There isn't a single panel on the car without a dent, ding, rust, paint fade, or trailer park style repair (read: sheet metal screws holding cladding to doors) There are more GVR4s rallying than 2G DSMs. I'd have a couple local GVR4 owners who actually rally to turn to for advice. Hmmm.... Mustafa, I don't have the budget to make a stage car out of this Galant before Goreman. It's not going to be feasible for me before some time next year, BUT I would like to meet up with you and maybe check out your Gaylant. Maybe, if I sit in a rally-prepped GVR4, I'll be able to put this nonsense behind me. If there's one thing that will eff me up good, it's not having my mind made up going into this. Who does ?? > It's not going to be feasible for me before some time next year, So get to work already. > BUT I would like to meet up with you and maybe check out your Gaylant. Always faesable. Maybe, if I sit in a rally-prepped GVR4, I'll be able to put this nonsense behind me. Same a s above. If there's one thing that will eff me up good, it's not having my mind made up going into this. Exactly ! You sound like a girl. Make up your mind, No wait, I already did that for you. You are going to prep the Galant for rallies and drive your DSM as a daily driver and organ donor if/when needed. Don't worry about the dings dents and the ghettoass repairs, your Galant will never go to Concours D'Elegance. It's a rally car for fucksake. Here are a few reasons why the Galant is a better option, you can fit in it, you can see over the hood, you have 2 more doors and a trunk, you don't have to be a contortionist to work inside the car. Want me to keep going ??? Cheers M.Samli Phoenix AZ Gaylant VR4 EVO III GSR (Stolen) Rallies are no place for traitors |

Right now, I am this far. >You sound like a girl. Make up your mind, No wait, I already did that for you. You are going to prep the Galant for rallies and drive your DSM as a daily driver and organ donor if/when needed. Well, that sucks. I would have liked to have gone a few months before being called a bitch, but them's the breaks. I don't know why this was so hard. I went shopping for a rally car. I bought a rally car. Now it's time to build it. Too bad I can't use the Talon for anything on the Galant. Apparently, you aren't very familiar with a 2GNT DSM... My engine bay: Note the location of the timing belt. 420A, my friend. Neon motor. I guess I could canabalize the power steering reservoir if I had to... >Don't worry about the dings dents and the ghettoass repairs, your Galant will never go to Concours D'Elegance. Want me to keep going ??? Sure! But lets go over that in person. I'll shoot you a PM with contact information. I think you offered your assistance with the Gaylant in exchange for beer. Guinness good enough? (Can't get any of the good German stuff over here, so Guinness is as good as it gets, imo.) I'm glad we had this little talk. OMFG a 2GNT !!
I thought you had a 1G Turppo. There goes the idea of pulling parts off the Talon. Perhaps it's better that way, we will always need a running car to go buy parts anyways. Guiness will do more than fine. Damn !!! I just realised !!! I should have talked you into scrapping the Galant and bought your front bumper. Last year, I think they only had about 20 Galants show up at all and only maybe one was a GVR4. I plan on taking mine this year. It would be funny to see something like five rally cars at this thing. Just a thought. Brian Driggs | KG7KCA | PHX, AZ | 89 Pajero alterius non sit qui suus esse potest |
