I cut open my old fuel filter and it was deep with mud on the bottom of the can and the actual filter element had Bosch granules all over the place.

After seeing that, I don't know if running the pump backwards would be a net gain or not. I also don't know if I have a fuel sock in the tank anymore, either.

If you wanted the ability to reverse the pump, instead of screwing around with 80 feet of wire and a double-pole three way switch, why not just make the connector to the pump accessible and not keyed. I'm thinking like using two pins of a 4-pin trailer connector, you can choose to use only two of the wires in such a way that you can unplug it and reverse it.

It's somewhat trivial to make a reversible motor switch from a dpdt switch... no extra major wiring required

Lots of line in this photo that I'd eliminate if I did it again, but the important things are visible. Inside the tank is a sock and lift pump. Then a corse Kinsler stainless filter that's easy to open up, check and clean. Next is the surge tank and pressure pump. Then is an OEM style GM Truck fuel filter that is cheap and easy to replace.

What if you're running the pump through a relay?

Maybe pumps are low current enough that you could trust a switch to it, but it still seems hinky to me.

I thought about the reversible switch too but i figured I could juest mess with it on stage if it went south.

Also, my pumps are in tank, will that be a problem? Or just more of a hassle?

This is what the Corolla has in it. Blake and Joel did the hanger and I just put some new pumps in and tidied up the wiring when I went through everything. I like the peace of mind of having two pumps in the car, hopefully one less thing to worry about on stage.

Btw, if anyone else uses Walbro 255s....then you can get them cheap at your local auto parts store. Same EXACT thing as the Airtex E2448. I got both for 130 bucks.

I wonder how Ford Motorsport survived making 390 bhp with a Bosch 150 l/hr?

On the topic of fuel pumps. Run the lines up the trans tunnel? or on the other side of the co driver?

The compression fittings for hard lines to adapt to AN a good idea? or use proper flares and a thread in adapter?
